Dhaka: Farzana Binte Hossain has received the ‘India-Bangladesh Friendship Award’ for her outstanding contribution to journalism. The award, presented annually by the joint initiative of the two powerful South Asian countries, India and Bangladesh, is given to only five individuals in the fields of journalism, arts, and literature.
The formal presentation of the award took place on Friday, May 31, at the Central Kochi-Kacha Auditorium in Segunbagicha, Dhaka, during the Bangladesh-India Harmony Festival. The event was organized by the India-Bangladesh Cultural Society.
The event was chaired by Bir Muktijoddha Justice Dr. Mohammad Abu Tariq, with the Chief Guest being Justice SM Mojibur Rahman. The special guests included former Army Chief Lieutenant General (Retd.) M Harun-ar-Rashid Bir Protik.
Farzana Binte Hossain is currently working in the President and Prime Minister’s Beat at Ekushey Television. She is also the Chairperson of the Bangladesh chapter of the international organization Voice of Media and the Senior Vice President of the South Asian Journalist Forum.
